Hello, on 8 dec I updated system via yay. Since then I’ve been unable to hibernate using a swap partition. Until then the hibernation worked smoothly. Now whenever attempting to hibernate, the computer acts as expected, but when turning on the state is not restored. Instead, the computer behaves as if it has just been turned on without hibernation what so ever.

Using the LTS kernel might be a reasonable workaround until the main kernel is fixed.

I’ve installed LTS kernel, and it did not solve the problem.

For the record, can you show the output of
inxi -Fza
Edit: here’s some reading (hibernation may have system specific issues):
Edit: how do you hibernate? Do you use command systemctl hibernate
?

I use KDE with i3 as WM. I’ve tried both KDE gui hibernation and systemctl hibernate.

You seem to have 2 display managers installed, lightdm and sddm.
If they are both running, I guess they might conflict.
What if you try disabling lightdm, and reboot, does it help on plasma?

Could be the same problem described in this post . The proposed solution (temporary workaround until dracut
gets patched/updated) worked for me.

systemctl stop lightdm.service made my screen completelly dark, I started sddm with tty and the problem with hibernation persisted.
Solution for me was adding one line to the file
cat /etc/dracut.conf.d/resume.conf
add_dracutmodules+=" resume "
install_items+=" /usr/lib/systemd/system/systemd-hibernate-resume.service "
sudo reinstall-kernels
system
