Hi Again, It's Been So Long!

Hi guys,
I hope everything and everybody is OK.

I have been away for a while, just got a bit busy.

Now I am back, on the same (a bit old now) laptop I was on before.
As I have another laptop a bit more powerful (i7 instead of this i5), so I decided to refresh my self and enjoy again EndeavourOS and the wonderful community here.

So, I just made a fresh install, but this time with BTRFS, Grub, BTRFS Assistant, Snapper, KDE as usual.

I’ts been a few hours now and I am really enjoying it. Everything is working perfect, rebooted a few times, installed some stuff, updated, got snapshots automatically and added to Grub, though several snapshots Baloo is working perfectly, and incredibly enjoying it.

I see my dreams came true.

I still see EndeavourOS and the community the best of the best.

Glad to be finally back home.

Depending how long you were gone (a year?) I wonder how a simple update would gone? I would guess disastrous. Evidently you did too  !

Quick questions for me mulling over someday:

  1. Why btrfs?
  2. why grub–just used to it?
    thanks!

Just to answer you in my humble opinion, BTRFS is really feature rich, for me I care about having snapshots of my system to be able to simply boot to an older snapshot if something goes wrong with an update, or when I mess things up. This leads to why Grub, because it automatically adds entries to these snapshots to boot to.

I tried both before but things were different, and I couldn’t have it as I have it now. I had issues with them. But now it seems much much better than before.

No matter what distro hoping I do, for me it is only EndeavoirOS and this community that both make me feel at home and happy

Honestly, since 2000 I never enjoyed a distro or a community as here.

Oooops! My bad, this machine is just i3 not even i5.

To be honest I never thought I would be enjoying working on it with EndeavourOS much much more than the other HP X360 with another distro.

Are you kidding! Not a year for sure. My last post was in December 21. I just got busy for a while. That’s all.

Welcome back, @limotux ! <3
