I used Linux mint for about 5 years in the past. Then got a new PC and was too lazy to install Linux so spent about 3-4 years on Windows. But recently, ive been annoyed with the big tech companies and decided to return back to good old Linux.
Im not really a technical person at all. But I found Mint a bit boring and wanted to try something more exciting this time. Of course, I’m absolutely not ready for Arch So, im giving EO a try, hopefully the golden middle road for me.
Im really looking forward to chatting with you mainly in the lounge part of the forum since I cant give technical advice to anyone, but I enjoy random off topic discussions
Hey @Vesna, welcome to the forum. Take a seat and start your journey. You don’t have to be a “real technical person” to enjoy EndeavourOS. Just feel free to ask, and always think of learning is the only thing a brain likes.
then I would suggest making sure to make the experience as painless as possible start with these two to help keep your EndeavourOS in great working condition.
Yay, youre right! Today theres the first big challenge in front of me - install my printer. And download Brave browser (it didn’t work yesterday when I copy pasted some commands from other forums). So im getting ready to do more googling and ask Claude today. But ill try to actually understand what im doing this time. Not just passively copy pasting.
Sooo… I’ll be able to say that I installed a printer on Arch basically
I would suggest searching the forum and wiki’s before asking claude/google. It will teach you to find the answers yourself (how to find the answers you need).
Thank you so much, thefrog! This is incredibly helpful indeed. Im going to read carefully and follow the advice. Exactly what I need right now thank you for taking the time to share.
