Hello from PA, where we have chocolate land

I’m new to linux, started with mint after getting so frustrated with windows after the new year, still have it but only for compatibility. BIOS flashing destroyed GRUB for mint and I got sick of Ubuntu. I wanted to do Kali but that’s not for daily drivers. I saw EndeavourOS and I was like “wow”. so I ran Endeavour on a VM (In windows cuz ubuntu cant do stuff) and I was convinced I wiped Ubuntu off of the surface of the earth and got this AMAZING OS. I love the pre-boot terminal stuff and GRUB has a background!

Oh, my user is IanEternally but refer to me as IE if ya want. Thanks!

@IanEternally Welcome to the forum! :purple_heart:

Hi, @IanEternally Welcome. Nice to know that you appreciate EOS as well.

I’ve had quite a journey before ending up with EOS, and Ubuntu was one of the stations along the way. I thought it did what it was supposed to do very well, and it did in fact start my Linux journey, (Ubuntu 6.6, later Xubuntu and Kubuntu), but once I discovered there was so much more to choose from, I started distro hopping for some time, until ending up with EOS, which has been rock solid for my use case ever since.

Enjoy the ride!

Good to have you with us, @IanEternally was it? You’re in for one hell of ride, enjoy every moment!

Wow thanks for the nice comments!

Next thing on your list is to delete windows :purple_heart:

Now how on golly’s green earth am I supposed to run boblox

I’ll consider it.

Oh wait I have passwords I forgot on windows

This is how I got to EOS (bottom right), I kept Zorin, W11 and EOS parallel, then put away Zorin, and maybe W11 next, after I tried out various ways to run Windows programs in Linux.

What you may want to do is, to try out Cinnamon and KDE Plasma as desktop environments in EOS, because the latter is fancy, the former is specifically for traditional Windows users and by Linux Mint users.

I use XFCE4. Please don’t judge me

Mate for me, so what should I say?
