Hey everyone,how are you today?
I am an third-year uni student and have used ubuntu for one year.
I have deep impression of the package manager first. If I want use something like nodejs or mysql on windows it was complex but not on linux.
I break my ubuntu disk accidently so I want to try something else . After one month for fighting against distros.I stop on endeavour.I love aur and pacman , simple and convenience
Great, endeavour is arch but out of the box, thanks for all from community.
Then I found this forum on google,it’s make me excited everyone was friendly.Maybe I can have a good time.
I like anime and PC games.
Half-life series,outerwilds,overwatch,Minecraft,Monster hunter,galgame and so on.
Sorry for my bad English, hahah,I hope you can get that.
I know rolling release is always new and good,But sometimes I also want use LTS on my PC,more stable and I can find more solution about the software issue on web to save time.
The reason it is rolling is that it is based heavily on Arch Linux (main difference from my understanding and usage is what is set up out of the box)
Don’t worry if your english bad its at least understandable which is the aim when trying to communicate
Good question, my main reason to begin with is wanting what is new but these days just stick with it because it works (I could probably word or explain better but words are eluding me today)
I hear they hold up different standards for native speakers…but it’s only a rumour. @Lorange You may wish to consider whether a rapid rolling (Arch based) system is best if you intend to use it for things that might be described as productivity. Whether you wish to or not, you’ll almost certainly have to ALSO become at least a moderate Linux expert, to be successful in the long term.
It is (my opinion) probably the best for gaming, due exactly to the rapid rollout, though you may also run into (I did about 2 weeks ago) a change to Wine making your favorite game unplayable till you change the configuration to use an older version of Wine. The real problem was figuring out that was the issue ;0 It was trivial to change the loader (in my case heroic game launcher) to use an older version of Wine.
yeah,yeah,I agree.
I even can’t find otherpeople who meet my issue on google.SometimesI have a feeling that just I have these bug on the earth.I give up school work for one month to fix them but useless.
