Headset Microphone (3.5mm jack) is not recognised

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to use a wired headset with a simple combined 3.5mm jack, and my laptop running EOS recognizes the headphones but not the mic. If anyone can point me towards how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Using an Acer aspire 3, with KDE Plasma.

Here is the ALSA thing to try, which a good place to start: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Advanced_Linux_Sound_Architecture/Troubleshooting#No_microphone_input

If you have pipewire-pulse installed, you can give this a shot: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PulseAudio/Troubleshooting#Microphone_not_detected_by_PulseAudio
