The repo seems to have already been forked by one of the cotributors so hopefully within shortly the still open source crap-free versions of the apps will be available on F-Droid.

For those of you who have been using apps from Simple Mobile Tools, the forked alternatives to Calendar and File Manager are also released in addition to the Gallery that was released earlier.
