response from the KDE bug tracker
“Something needs to be recompiled against an updated Qt version. Please contact your distribution”
What repos are you using? The plasma version on regular repos is 6.5.5-1.
Also we don’t compile any of the plasma packages, it directly comes from arch repos whether regular or testing.
If you use kde-unstable a few applications need recompiling against the updated Qt version.
Correct, I am testing the KDE-unstable. The thing is the Haruna is a KDE application. Who is supposed to re-compile the apps, harruna included?
Should I install the git version and compile it?
That’s a good question..and I don’t know the answer. Eventually whomever is the Haruna maintainer will compile it.
However, the linux movement answer is: Whoever is experiencing the problem and wants to help figure out the solution, can compile and test it and report back upstream.
Hah, so the best answer is ask not what your distro can do for you, but what you can do for your distro.
On the release the distro will recompile the packages against the updated libraries.
Currently not on the beta anymore, so I can’t test myself, and you didn’t post an actual error. But I assume just recompiling the normal Arch package is fine.
I am trying. I download and compile Haruna from git. It did not help.
Unless I know what dependencies needs to be recompiled, I will be guessing for now.
My guess would be all haruna’s dependencies, which would mean a full KDE build environment, but heck I haven’t done this stuff in years myself, so I’m probably a babbling idiot.
Thanks anyway, for now I will live with it as failing. I will revert to using vlc which is working fine.
Ok, I gave it a quick whirl. One of the Haruna components mpvqt required a rebuild.
Arch package rebuild for the interested.
PS: I changed the thread title from 6.6.1-Beta to 6.6-1-Beta, because that dot was really confusing.
Fantastic. The issue have been resolved.
