Happy Father's Day!

I don’t know how many of us here are fathers, but Happy Father’s Day anyway (if you happen to have it on same day, but also if it’s still ahead or it was already)! :man_feeding_baby:

This is what I got for present. :wrapped_gift: :face_savoring_food:

Fathers day in Germany was already in May.
9. November is fathers day only in Estonia, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
But anyways, happy fathers day.

Yes, but when was the last day you got a chocolate at father’s day? :beer_mug:

Made a small edit. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Actually this is made up. There is no official fathers day in germany.

Enjoy your day & choclate @Dinomonster !

Well, what do you mean with “official”? Even mothers day is not “official” in germany.

Mother’s Day status has nothing to do with Father’s Day. But if you want to compare: Mother’s Day is habbit in whole germany. “Father’s Day” is actually Ascenion Day or Christi Himmelfahrt in german.
On is used for thanking mothers, the other is used by male youths to drink alcohol and behave like neanderthals…

In Italy it’s on March

Like When Did Young males EVER NEED an excuse to drink and behave like Neanderthals?

I do not want to steal this thread but just for the records: Fathers day in Germany is pretty old. It was first celebrated around 1890 in Berlin. Today, fathers day is established in all areas of Germany. In some areas less and in others more prominent. But heavy drinking of alcohol by young men who are not even fathers is always involved.

Does not not change at all that it is a stupid (and this is the most civilized way to name it…) idea to reuse a christian holiday for drinking and celebrating a gender. That’s all for me on this topic, I don’t want to steal it either.

That’s not what fathers day is around here.
