GUI-Backup-Tools like Lukybackup, PikaBackup, Grsync and DejaDup - your experience here?

good day dear EndeavourOS - experts - hello

i have a notebook (with another distro on it) now i need to save all the data - with a backup.

all right i could do this with rclone on the command line - but i found lukybackup -

just installed it.

now i am going to do the first steps here:

i guess that ill have to set the folder i want to backup (the Source in other words) and besides the folder where i want the backup saved ( in other words the destination).

after this i only have to validate, and subsequently have to press ok.

well: do you know more tools to do this:

note - i am not in Gnome, but Grsync would be another good rsync UI.
and for user friendly incremental backup, some friends told me that DejaDup (or Backup) could be also a solution: DejaDuP - it should be installed by default,
last but not least - some also mentioned PikaBackup

welll - at the moment i ll try out LuckyBackup - which is a GUI-tool that works on base of rclone..

look forward to hear from you

I use

  1. timeshift, (cli and gui) for system backup with snap hooks before each update.
  2. OneDrive/OneDriveGui is set up to auto-mirror my home directory to OneDrive. I have 1TB free storage with my $140 per year MS365 for 5 PCs. I only use one WIN11 license for my son Gaming/VR PC

It works like a charm.

This is how you do private-file backups with

  1. Back in Time,
  2. Grsync and
2.1 the same with rsync in the console.
  1. This is how you do operating-system files with Timeshift.

If you want to go beyond basics, you can take a look at

  1. Crontab time,
    4.1 Crontab operations,
  2. Vorta,
  3. Restic,
  4. dd,
  5. OpenMediaVault,
  6. XigmaNAS

TimeShift is really great and quite simple to use.
Also like SyncThing and SyncThingy to automatically sync my documents and other important stuff between my devices.
