Just installed Endeavour a few days ago, this is my first Arch-based distro. Very fascinating stuff. Though I’m new to EOS, I’ve been using Linux Mint for about 9 months now. Still somewhat new to the Linux experience, but I’ve had some time to adjust. I wanted to try EOS initially because I needed a GNOME DE for Wayland. I peeked around at a few of the available options, and liked the description from the website: “A terminal-centric distro with a vibrant and friendly community at its core”. I originally liked Arch for it’s focus on keeping it simple, but was more drawn to the community that exists for EOS.
The terminal has been a pretty exciting tool to learn about. I find myself gravitating towards CLI-based applications in recent months and have been trying to use them as often as I can. I’ve been reading the Arch Wiki here and there, which has been a really cool resource to learn from. Major props to the people who maintain it.
The community here seems pretty welcoming, which is pretty stellar. Big fan of the color scheme as well, since violet is my favorite color. Since the community seems pretty nice, I thought I’d also stop by and say hello. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed Endeavour so far, and I’m looking forward to get more familiar with the distro and you all. Cheers.
