Yeah, I won’t be running unstable either at the moment because i need my laptop to just work. Can’t allow to myself to get in trouble at the moment. Even without new prescriptions

The rollback only takes a few seconds, so I’m not worried. I mostly sat out the 6.3 beta because there were some showstoppers for my workflow.
But also their longtime release manager stepped down after the 6.3 cycle, so someone new is managing the release for the first time. Let’s see how it goes.
Let’s hope things go well! For the release manager as well as the testers!

From some of the noises I have heard today, yes, there’s a new person figuring things out. I assume there’s some knowledge accumulated over time that isn’t documented anywhere except in that persons brain.
There always is a head that knows more than what is documented, in my experience.

I have always been a GNOME fan, every time I’ve tried KDE, I’ve kind of “semi-got” what it was trying to do, but always felt constrained by its overwhelming customisability. Maybe I’ll give it another go.. I think for people who like simplicity, it’s probably not the best choice, but there’s absolutely a place for it. Kudos for another great release. There’s a place for more than one amazing DE.
Edit: I gave it another go on my old box. Lasted ten minutes.

Well, it’s good there’s more than one..because GNOME drives me nuts (inflexibility).

One big showstopper in the first beta relating Activities here. Got lucky and was able to hunt it down. Fixed within an hour. Thanks KDE team. 
With that patch applied smooth sailing so far.

Not really a show stopper, but some animations particularly involving my panels seem to be slow and choppy. Might just be Nvidia not liking the beta though. Other than that, so far so good.

Are you still on it? Do you use OBS by chance?
The mouse cursor is recorded with a black box now. Do you see that too?
Sorry, I already downgraded because the lag issues were more prevalent using sunshine which I use daily.
Beta 2 is released and in the repo.

Gonna give it a shot in a hour or so. Round 2 with 6.4 beta.
Edit: Beta 2 fixes my previous issue with laggy panels.
Trying again on beta 2 haven’t noticed a black box when recording with obs. Although I am recording a virtual desktop.
