Great Idea to have screenshots of installer on the homepage!

Hi,
I just wanted to say what a great idea that was!

It is there for a longer time, only now with the more minimal design Bryan implemented, it is easier to focus

Stock I3 comes with floating taskbar, transparencies all set like that, etc? That pic was without any self-flagellation, uh, I mean painful self-configuration and massive .config/compositor configuration?
asking for a friend.

PS Doktor/Bryan I loved the slideshow of the whole enchilada. edit changed ‘dock’ to taskbar

In this case, what you see is what you get. i3 comes like that out of the box on an Endeavour install.

I’d love to see Hyprland like that. I want to try it but the configurations look so daunting.

We will keep things simple for the defaults, i3 per example is what i do use personally, and it is very stable and documented very well.

And if we talk about WM setups, they are not relaying that much on package ecosystems like full-blown Desktops, easy to add these after install of the OS or using a script like there is for sway: https://github.com/EndeavourOS-Community-Editions/sway With this you can use the default installer and simple copy paste the URL to the script to install sway.

As Bryan said already the EndeavourOS i3 setup is fully functional by default:

I’ve tried 2-3 WMs and ran away from 2-3 DMs because nothing at all was “fully functional by default”, this is good to know, thank you. Thanks for maintaining it.

i always thought if I had a good base to start with I can happily append .conf files for task bar and menu and picom for the windows. Etc. I can do all that stuff but I just do not want to invent it all and download it.

I’m delighted it’s ready to rock OOTB.
Will install that in Cinnamon and get in the bootup greeter.
