Gpg pg or whatever is killing me. pls help

Would be good to know… Have I been blacklisted? LOL So no help for me?

Or has Enos just sadly become a rubbish place to seek help?

I run these commands:

sudo killall gpg-agent

sudo rm -rf /etc/pacman.d/gnupg/*.*

pacman-key --init

sudo pacman-key --populate archlinux

sudo pacman -Sy archlinux-keyring

and then when i run this sudo pacman-key --refresh-keys I see loads of errors and keys not being imported.

I’ve also run:

sudo pacman -Sc and sudo paccache -r

timedatectl is fine and ntp is set to true.

I’ve changed the keyserver to well here’s my gpg.conf:

sudo cat /etc/gnupg/gpg.conf
# Key server to use
#keyserver keyserver.archlinux.org
keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com
#keyserver hkp://keys.openpgp.org

I know i don’t want to set the SigLevel to Never. just need a little bit of guidance, explanation etc so I can have an understanding and deal with frigging pg tips.

I apologise if this post isnt well written, I do hope I’ve given enough info… I’m just smashed rightnow. Feel like I’ve been arguing with my ex wife for two days straight and I don’t know which way is up or down.

Turning my laptop off now need to get some rest.

Many thanks in advance!

Oh my gosh hahaha. Yaaa I hope this is correct. Seriously don’t know how I missed this but someone who know pls can you clarify…

wiki says:

Note: The archlinux-keyring package, which is a dependency of base, contains the latest keys. However keys can also be updated manually using pacman-key --refresh-keys (as root). While doing --refresh-keys, your local key will also be looked up on the remote keyserver, and you will receive a message about it not being found. This is nothing to be concerned about.

lol Yeah… so pls someone tell me this means the errors I’ve been seeing are “nothing to be concerned about”

deep.

Would be good to know… Have I been blacklisted? LOL So no help for me?

Or has Enos just sadly become a rubbish place to seek help?

assuming to get band by these normal questions and post deleted.

or some stupid aggy response by someone whod never speak like that f2f.

Many thanks.

Your local key has nothing to do with the keys being pulled from the remote keyserver, so the wiki fragment you’ve quoted is unrelated.

Also, if you’re going to ask for help while saying “I expect nobody will help me because this place is rubbish and will just ban me”, don’t be surprised if people do decide to needle you instead of helping since it’s an incredibly hostile way to make a plea for assistance. Food for thought

If it makes you feel any better, if I run --refresh-keys I also get a number with the exact same error message, even for the EOS dev team:

gpg: error retrieving 'manuel@endeavouros.com' via WKD: No data
gpg: error reading key: No data
gpg: error retrieving 'pudge@endeavouros.com' via WKD: No data
gpg: error reading key: No data
gpg: error retrieving 'sradjoker@endeavouros.com' via WKD: No data
gpg: error reading key: No data

So either there’s no problem, there’s a problem with the keyserver which isn’t our responsibility, or we’ve both managed to silently break our installs in the same wacky way. Mine is about as close to stock as it gets beyond my DE config so I highly doubt it’s the third option

If sudo pacman -Syu won’t give any issues, all is well in Archland.

This thread from Archlinux forum may give some insight:

Hi @z580c and @pebcak I hope you’re both well,

I haven’t seen you z580c on here before… or maybe I have but your username isn’t memorable.

lol Yeah mate! you misquoted me. I have not been hostile to anyone at any point as far as I know or can remember to anyone on this forum!

I ASKED the questions that I asked because it was like I don’t know 15hrs later and not one response. Which from my previous experience on this forum is absolutely nothing like I know.

I do not appreciate pictures. In fact I can not stand pictures. When people create pictures. Yeah that does piss me off. No, no, lol to be clear I am not being hostile with you. I’m just telling you what I think and what I like and don’t like.

Besides all of that, honestly I thank you both for your replies, time taken and explanations.
