This is what you will see from GNOME 49 onwards if you use the old gnome-screenshot.
The reason for this is that it has lost access to GNOME’s private screen capture API and therefore no longer works in GNOME environments because the project maintainers intentionally revoked those privileges.
It has not been needed either since GNOME 42, if I remember correctly, as a screenshot tool was introduced as part of gnome-shell itself.
More, it is now unmaintained and should be regarded as deprecated.

I am not sure why gnome-console is included. last time I checked, it was so feature-free, it couldn’t support some of our tools because it wasn’t capable of running a process and then exiting.
I have not much of experience with gnome-console to speak of. I think I tried it for a short while back when it was introduced but not liked it so much to keep using it. I use gnome-terminal and it works well on my GNOME-Arch installs.
