I experienced a strange behaviour of several programs after the latest update of gnome-shell and mutter in the last days. Some time after login and there changing between programs, windows and parts of the programs became unclickable. In most cases the only solution was to close and reopen the program.
I then searched upstream and came across a ticket in mutter (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/4138 that described exactly my strange behaviour. The error occurs in X11 and wayland.
Solution to get this fixed is to downgrade mutter to version 48.2.
Hope it helps others experiencing the same problem.
