Gnome IBus vs vanilla IBus

Hi,

I had to add some exotic layout to my keyboard using some tried and true procedure involving installation of the packages ibus-m17n and m17n-cu. The result is remarkable:

IBus Preferences has been started via console, ibus-setup. To the left I see exactly what I expected to see: Slavic, Church, etc.

Nothing new to the right, nothing to be added with Add Input Source. What can I say?

  1. Vanilla IBus is there (to the left) and behaves as expected.
  2. Keyboard Settings in the upper right corner of the desktop is close, but uses its own configuration. Obviously, language lists are independent.

Where can I start the research, at least?

You can add the input source, after all.

Open Settings > Keyboard > Input Sources > Add Input Source

Open full language list

Scroll down to the end and choose Other

Select Slavic, Church (cu-kbd (m17n))
