GNOME 49.1 Multiple Monitors & Workspace switching issue

GNOME 49.1

Kernel: Linux 6.17.8-arch1-1

When switching workspaces in a multiple monitor setup, all the windows on the secondary screen disappear, even though I have set it to only use workspaces on the primary monitor.
I will link a short video of the issue because I think my explanation is not the best:

@byte21516,
I’m unable to reproduce this.
Does it depend on the application on the actual workspace?
Is there a correlation between the Console on monitor 2 and the app on monitor 1?

It happens with any application. No correlation between the terminal and the app.
Also it is not caused by a gnome extension.

I solved this problem for me using the nuclear option… I backed up my dconf settings as described here: https://itsfoss.gitlab.io/post/reset-gnome-desktop-settings-to-default-in-linux/, then ran dconf reset -f / and logged out and back in. It resets all of your configuration, but somehow also solved this problem for me…

Perhaps it will help you too!

Perhaps I spoke bit too soon — the issue is back for me already… I’ll update here if I manage to solve it, but I’m out of ideas now…

A reboot (with the monitor connected at the time of boot) seems to have fixed it again. For @byte21516 , is this issue present for you from a fresh boot? Or is it some broken state that the system eventually ends up in after some time? Is your setup a laptop where you are disconnecting and reconnecting to monitors, or are they always both attached?

Yes, the issue did persist after a fresh reboot.
For me, the issue resolved itself after some time.
