Gnome 45 is no longer in testing repo?

Share your experience with it here, I didn’t update yet.

Edit: Updated… everything so far, so good.

I don’t use extensions of any kind.

Wow, that’s impressively fast for a gnome update. Arch is usually into the .1 release before it updates. Very interesting. VM’s for me show things as good to go. I won’t see it on my main machine (Fedora) until probably like November/December. Give it time to work out any bugs. I’ll do the laptop asap.

Looks like another smooth update coming down the line.

Yes, pretty fast, that is good to see…

They did something with the mouse movement, I can’t really tell what they did but it seems better.
I also noticed that they changed the work areas, now I can switch easily between work spaces but that is not so useful for me since I use shortcuts for everything.
Nautilus seems faster and cleaner too.
If you check your system info clicking in About, they changed that layout too…

So far this is what I observed…

I’ve been using it for a couple of days now & it is very nice…I only have 1 extension that is not working (better than previous updates!) & everything seems smoother.

I like that font btw

I just installed so I have little to say about it yet, but tested successfully Firefox native on Wayland with vaapi hw accel, thunderbird same thing, Signal, Nautilus, Console, Text editor

They fixed the default apps showing repeated items:

Edit: For me this was one of best things they did so far…

Thanks…here is the information on the font,

My Fedora 39 Beta VM already has 45, so maybe 38 won’t be far behind.

38 likely won’t upgrade. I don’t believe they update between the Fedora versions. IE 37 if you’re still using it should be on 43. 38 should stay on 44, etc.

Impressively clean update. I honestly expected problems (was probably on the road too long with Plasma). Apart from the settings window crashing for the first time, everything is running fine.

It definitely seems “snappier”.

I think I know why they released it so fast… perhaps related to this ?
