Gitlab issue

Hi everyone.
I’m new to endeavouros. And now I have a problem with gitlab.

When I try to reach the site (https://gitlab.com/EndeavourOS) I get blewo error:
“You are currently viewing from a blocked IP address or country.”

What should I do? Can I change it to github or sth else?
It’s hard to use a VPN all the time :frowning:

Seems you will have to use a VPN if you want to use gitlab.

Due to speed and connection issues, I prefer not to use a VPN. Are the features/services that the operating system relies on GitLab for also available on GitHub or other platforms? Is it possible to redirect these requests to GitHub or other alternatives? And how?

I’m not sure what your getting at here. I mean I get the ISO and just update through paru (yay is installed by default) so what are you trying to do that requires you to use the github/gitlab?

I’ve had a lot of unresolved issues with updating keys (PGP/GPG). I tried various solutions suggested online, but nothing worked so far. At this point, I think I might need to manually reinstall or configure things. I’m starting to suspect the problem might be related to GitLab (e.g., repository configuration or key syncing).

can you post the errors you get while updating?

I get this error in updating mirrorlist:
==> Info: fetching https://gitlab.com/endeavouros-filemirror/PKGBUILDS/-/raw/master/endeavouros-mirrorlist/endeavouros-mirrorlist
==> Error: cannot fetch EndeavourOS mirrorlist info (curl error code 22).

and then with managing this issue and use for example “reflector” and try to ‘refresh-keys’, I get this error:
could no update key: key-ID
error retrieving ‘key-link’ via WKD: end of file

What is the actual, initial problem in your system that you are trying to solve?

Welcome here!

Tip: when explaining what the errors were, please show both

  • the full command line you used
  • the full output of the command

This makes it much easier for us to see what the real problem is.

Also, please use terminal commands when troubleshooting.
