General archISO questions

Complete noob, looking to install arch. Already tried, no luck.

Help. I’m using an SD card thru my laptop’s reader. I’ve almost given up hope and went with Arco Linux. I really want to do this, though, having set up multiple Red Hat systems from scratch, but it’s so different. I also keep getting an error [AER: failure of this agent is reported first] during ram copy. Please help, I even resorted to arch install and no luck.

bbs.archlinux.org won’t let me post for some reason.

If you’re trying to install actual Arch, and not an Arch-based distro like EndeavourOS, then this is where you should probably look…

Official Arch Linux Installation Guide - Arch Wiki

If you are looking for a truly customisable installation, but can’t do it “the Arch way”, it’s better to go with Arco Linux. They have a very well-detailed wiki that guides you from basic installation to advanced.

EndeavourOS is meant to be a slightly customised and easy-to-install Arch, but already advanced users can make their initial installation greatly customised.

Have a look at the installation guides here: https://discovery.endeavouros.com/category/installation/

I’m doing it the Arco Linux way.

Yep. Use what works for you in the way you want/need it to.

You can still check the forum for solutions or help others with their issues. Most fixes that apply to EndeavourOS also apply to other Arch distros.

What if you installed EndeavourOS, but without the theming? Would that be vanilla Arch enough?

I’ve ran the archinstall script (but have never tried the Arch Way), and I’ve played a lot with Erik’s various ArcoLinux ISO’s. I like the simplicity of using Calamares. I also like choosing systemd over grub.

There’s a nice German word for that – jein.
It’s just as you were using EndeavourOS, but without EOS theming. There are still some scripts and custom-made apps shipped, if you haven’t unchecked them while installation.
And yet, Qogir icon theme is still installed, as the Welcome app has it as dependency.
