Full Concerts via yt-dlp

I’m getting some full-concert videos set up to view/save on my PC and external SSD. Gotta love yt-dlp!

Here’s what I’ve got so far (1080p to 4K). This will be building on a daily basis.

I regularly use ytdlp for…everything… but nothing this big (these are probably10GB or more?)

I will chase that QOTSA to find out!
Belle and Sebastian? Find the Isobel Campbell CD she did with Mark Lanegan: that was her career pinnacle but not his. Close.
Wow those all are kevin bacon 7 degrees-linked I just realized…

Pink Floyd in 94 was just about 3-4 years without Waters (?) reinventing themselves as an FM radio pop powerhouse. I think. Cool. --ramblingvicar

So far they’re running between 1.6GB and 7GB.

I’ll definitely look for that!

Dead can dance. I see, another connoisseur of the fine arts. :+1:

This is the song which made me a fan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FP5Jd-NIjX4&list=PLfhR1VDg5AvzW0XW68eKzGSiAnRHGoU6e&index=12

It’s now 40 years old.

In view of the fact that videos fall victim to YouTube censorship from time to time (e.g. content that doesn’t fit in with the same old woke mash of opinions), yt-dlp has become indispensable for me in recent years. But concert recordings are a nice bonus. Thanks to the developers of this little wizard.

It’s funny you say this. I have a pretty good sense about which stuff will be immediately disappeared and it’s a great tool for posterity as well as music.

I think it’s one of the best tools in the linux cli arsenal. My big fear is they find a way to render it ineffective someday. ytfzf also great. but until then

yt-dlp and its predecessor youtube-dl have been my goto for many years. I love them for simple fact they are cli based and I don’t have to play the guessing game of which browser addon is going to let me download the video without spamming me or taking me to some dodgy chinese or russian website.

It just works. Which is what I want.

It’s the go-to if you want something off YT.

OP has great taste in music. :sunglasses:

Does that work for you with an IP outside of germany?

Used the translate option in Librewolf, download one already. All seems good!

Since the program accesses the media libraries on the public television channels, I’m not sure if this works outside of Germany. If so, all the better

I’m using the web links you provided above. And WOW! A treasure trove of music. I’ve found so many great shows at 1080p. Particularly the Rockpalast link. Some great concerts from the Freak Valley Festival in Netphen, Germany. Thanks so much!

I am very pleased about that. Rockpalast is legend in Germany
