I got a new drive for the holidays and installed a brand new fresh instance of the latest endeavour release. None of my hardware aside from the nvme has changed.
On the old install, my volume was at 35-55%, with 55% only needed when something like the washing machine was running in the background and I was trying to watch a video.
On the new install, 55% is barely audible in a quiet room!
- “Raise maximum volume” was never used on the old install
- Speakers never lost power and retained the exact same volume setting
- Output device is the same controller it was before (Starship/Matisse presumably from the Mobo)
- I had fully updated the system prior to the fresh install, i.e. a driver update did not change the audio output
What else could possibly be going on?
