Fresh EOS KDE Install - No yad, eos-welcome not working

Hey gang,

Following a fresh EOS install, I was immediately presented with the fact that the EOS-Welcome app would not load. After launching it from terminal I was presented with the error “eos-welcome requires package ‘yad’”

I remember there being a yad-eos but neither yad nor yad-eos were installed on this fresh install. I did Online Install → KDE → added CUPS → systemd

Let me know if you need any more information. Obviously, I manually installed yad(pacman didn’t find yad-eos) and it fixed the welcome app.

Looks like yad-eos no longer exists and instead yad was moved to the endeavouros package database.

Did you use the latest ISO to install?

Yup. File is named “EndeavourOS_Endeavour-2024.06.25.iso”, I downloaded it on 7/26/2024. I tested it on a different machine, and it did the same thing.

Should be fixed in welcome 24.8-1.
