Hallo,
sudo downgrade 'freetube=0.21.3'
sudo downgrade 'freetube=0.21.3-1'
sudo downgrade 'freetube==0.21.3'
sudo downgrade 'freetube==0.21.3-1'

I don’t recall ever downgrading an AUR package or GIT package, but rather than go through all of that, why not use the portable package instead?
I used to use the AppImage, but the portable archives work just fine for me.
In this case, to get an older package, you would need to go to their GitHub.
But once you get it, then you can have multiple versions based on what is working or isn’t.
Yeah - AppImage or Flatpak are an alternative, too. Thanks a lot!

You’re welcome.
What is wrong with the new version, by the way?
I haven’t downloaded it yet. Will do so now, though.

The big circle in (transparent) white in the middle of the screen (play & pause) is disturbing for me while starting, stopping and rewinding.

I see.
Well, based on the way things usually go, at some point playback in the older version will stop working. So, it’s only a temporary solution to use an older version.

Yes. Maybe I take the time & write my wish into the webseite of the developers of freetube.

I use the latest AUR binary of freetube. I will attest it’s uncomfortably startling and resembles a big white X…once I hit play move the mouse all is good. Actual streaming content is unaffected but the before/rewind/pause/etc is. I don’t want to rollback however, just purge it from my mind!
Wow … with FreeTube 0.22.0.beta.r7483.a26d1d6-1 (from git) the white circle is gone away.
Wow … mit FreeTube 0.22.0.beta.r7483.a26d1d6-1 (von git) ist der weiße Kreis nun weg.
Nun nur noch anPINnen !?!
When I moved the mouse, I saw the white circle.
That was disturbing while reading subtitles with play & stop…
With space button the same.
Now it’s gone … (until next update)
