It was the default for a short while, three years ago but I received a lot of backlash about that decision back then, I reverted it back to light and added the theme selector in the hamburger menu.

I should have figured⌠Every change gets backlash, because people get used to the current state.
Well, when I did it the forum was only two months old, the main complaint then, was that dark themes were a fad and that we shouldnât go that route of jumping on that dark theme hype train.
