My friend, I don’t know your age, but let me offer you a bit of advice:** never let anyone dictate what you can or can’t do with your personal space. I fully understand that an employer has the right to control what software runs on company-owned devices. But that authority ends there — they have no say over what you choose to run on your personal computer.
I also have to use Windows and other proprietary tools at work, but at home, it’s Linux across all systems (and FreeBSD on a small laptop, just for fun).
And a word of caution about so-called “dream jobs”: I’ve seen more than a few turn into someone’s worst nightmare. Sometimes what seems perfect on paper ends up being anything but.
In any case, I wish you the very best of luck. And remember, you’re always welcome back in this amazing world of Linux and Open Source. It’s a community that never really lets go once you’ve tasted the freedom.
The political discussion has been moved out of this topic.
Please keep this on-track.
@Werameli Even though you’re not using EndeavourOS anymore you can still hang around on the forums here, there’s plenty of people that hang around here that use other distributions other than Arch/EndeavourOS.
Why are you posting your comment not into a Windows forum ?
What’s your problem everyone is allowed to post here?
Locking because it’s getting off-topic (again). All the best to @Werameli, you’re of course welcome to stay on the forum, regardless of your OS choice ![]()
