I am by far not an expert on file systems, but I thought that defraging a SSD was not advised as TRIM would take care of this. Trim is supported by most distros, defrag is not supported by most file system types.

Yeah youâre right, SSD is not advised (although TRIM != defrag), i was speaking on HDD behalf - coz wellâŚ
To store some serious data on SSD, say 4 Tb, you have to be seriously rich for no apparent reason
Sorry, I guess I didnât make myself clear in my first post.
Currently most OS are installed on a SSD, and as @keybreak correctly pointed out, a lot of people use a HDD for data.
My concern is, does the defrag in BTRFS and XFS take into consideration if the file system is on a SSD and not use defrag? Or does the user has to intervene in a config file somewhere?
