Hi,
After having installed, mtpfs or gvfs-mtp, gvfs-gphoto2 libraries, darktable and shotwell, I still can’t import images from a canon eos 350d (set on pc connection). lsusb doesn’t yield anything.
Thanks
Perhaps you can open terminal and you can run ‘inxi -b’ so we can get your computers configuration?
Additionally, is the computer dual booted with Windows? This would let us know if your computer can see the camera and files there.
Here it is:
$ inxi -b [14:18:00]

just endeavourOS installed (I can mount external usb drive)
Thanks for sharing the details. So I had the Canon XTI (one model older) quite some time ago (but have not used with Arch). I believe in Windows I had a special driver to access that camera.
That being said, and knowing you use Gnome, can you open Gnome File Manager and see the camera there?
I did look at the Arch Wiki and did not see any compatibility information for the Canon XT\XTI. Even with my Fuji camera I just attach a memory card reader to access my files.
I believe the Lenovo T430 has an SDCARD reader on the side of the laptop (I had the T430s). What happens when you plug the memory card into the side of the laptop?
the canon has sandisk 1gb flashcard , is it compatible with the T430 port? The canon is invisible to nautilus/darktable or lsusb
Sorry error on my part. The Canon XT has compact flash. So you need an external memory card reader.
The T430 (if installed) would have had an sd card reader. That is what my Fuji X-T2 uses.
So I would obtain a card reader to plug into your USB port. I will assume Darktable should be able to handle the RAW files if you produce those for editing.
