Failed to start Light Display Manager

What happens if you run

systemctl start lightdm

Are you able to provide the hardware output. Post the url

inxi -Faz | eos-sendlog

lmao it works. I even rebooted to make sure it’s for real.
So a recap for anyone having the issue : it seems like the Xorg conf file could not be parsed, however it also seems like it is not a critical file and thus can be deleted.

  1. remove Xorg conf file rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf
  2. start X startx
  3. start lightdm systemctl start lightdm

Thank you for your help, I’ve been at it for hours.

No, that’s fine. You do not have to be afraid to open a new topic when the old one thread is that old.

Great it works now! And thanks for the recap.

No worries!
@ricklinux Might be an idea to close that thread as the original problem of both posters was solved?
