Failed boot, and strange messages

this sould be a specific topic
from version Nvida December , with Xfce , after any screen hold ( about 5mn )
Xfce login appears , try login , then screen black with pointer mouse that i can move ( but nothing else )
→ always TTY , login and restart lightdm.service

the thing is i can not reproduce the same issue its a condition, happen very random.
But we could do a thread about collecting data indeed.

Issues with nvidia 550 drivers

There seem to be some issues with the current nvidia drivers causing crashing and hard freezes in certain circumstances. Notably, it can cause a freeze during the update process leaving the system in a broken state. I believe we have seen a few people have this issue on the forum recently though I don’t think anyone attributed it nvidia. There are a couple of references to the issue below though they are a bit hard to follow. It is something to be aware of if you are using these drivers.

To be clear, the driver is causing kernel memory corruption so what that means is that the problems won’t be consistent.
