I am so out of my mind happy with EOS that I just need to vent… I have been quad-booting Fedora, EOS, Ubuntu, Windows. And now that I have spent the time to make everything work in EOS I just love how everything works easily, like printer, Bluetooth, flatpak, syncthing (w/obsidian for my home server) and all without a GUI for software (imagine the difficulty in the realization that from W~ you don’t actually need a picture to click!) and the lowest temps ever!…
I spent an hour trying to figure out why the fans on my laptop were not working properly, like ramping up etc, then I realized that the temps were low on the same load that W~ would make those fans scream!
I know this is an Arch and EOS “blowing smoke up your ass” post but I don’t care, everything is sooo much better!
I know the feeling. And, in my case at least, the feeling never really wears off.
Just the other day I had a stark reminder of how well EOS works for me and how smoothly it installs and runs, when I helped someone install W11.
I’m not bashing windows or its users, to each their own, but experiencing the Windows 11 install and the flood of Pop ups and improvement suggestions, sign in and sign up patterns, the ads, I was very happy to return to my EOS Setup - and to donate to the project: money well spent.
Ya I remember those days of Windows 3.11 to Windows 95 then Windows 95 OSR1 then Windows 98 and then Windows 98 second edition and so on all the way to EOS. It could be called Exceptional OS! But that would be an Endeavour!
I’m getting close to doing so on my Win 10 pc but am hesitating due to my GTX 1060 being under legacy support soon
I’d rather not have to repair a borked system if I can wait a bit longer and hopefully do the install right the first time. I never used drivers from the AUR before
