I think Orwell and Huxley were on to something. It is either 1984 or Brave New World, i think these are the options. Liberty is not a common characteristic among humans. I don’t believe that most people actually want to be free.
I don’t believe that most people actually know what they want.
That’s a relief. I was pretty sure it was going to fail, because if you think about any other EU online privacy legislation, this is pretty much the exact opposite of it. Let alone create massive legal problems since it would be in such conflict with many contradicting EU laws. But still, can let out a sigh of relief for the moment.
In Windows 11, remote login can´t be disabled.
I wanted to install Windows 11 on my computer, so I got a TPM device.
Now, I can located in the internet.
You would be completely wrong. It’s that a small percentage is extremely good at manipulating others.
I think people in general simply want to live in comfort and let other people do “hard decisions”. People don’t want to have absolute freedom, because there’s no such thing in real life; they want to live their lives like hobbits and not to use worry about outside world.
Of course there are people who want to manipulate and subjugate others, as we can see happening right now, but “fortunately” only few of these are after total control and instead want to boringly gain something for themselves, usually money or admiration of being the greatest, not understanding they are most likely forgotten in the end.
So in my opinion, there’s no need for Great Manipulators, people simply are easily lulled into comfort that they don’t want to be disturbed.
Ridding yourself of the responsibility of gaining the control of your life and your freedom and blaming a “small percentage” for manipulating the huge masses of people is an appalling attitude to me.
Those who tend to have this attitude, painting themselves as victims, blaming others for their power of manipulation, rather than taking the rein of their life and freedom and to be the sole masters of it, have no idea of what freedom is. And perhaps don’t deserve it.
The market for selling Salvation, in any shape, form and color, has never experienced a downturn and now is hotter than ever.
Some elections must be around the corner somewhere
And this kind of PURE BS gets no one anywhere.
Neither does your sort of UTTER BULLSHIT!
So cut the crap and stop with your air of superiority and condescending attitude that can be witnessed around the forum.
And, by the way, enjoy yourself in your self-pity and your victim role!
I have come to conclusion that our Borg “friend” is either lousy troll or just likes to behave badly because ressons. There’s no need to get yourself banned/muted because someone like him.
You are right! Thanks for your kindness and concern!
I just cannot stand that someone, time after time, empties the content of his intestines all over the place and gets away with it.
But yeah, not worth it. Ignoring is the best punishment for these “attention seekers”.
Is it a choice/selfishness/apathy or is it all human nature? Maybe humanity is overrated. I think “politics” is the art of manipulating/exploiting human nature (human psyche). No psychology degree necessary. If you had a relatively social childhood/youth and understood how people initiate/respond and have some social intelligence, can make people listen to you, you can do it too. It is just a trade like any other. They sell intangible things instead of material things. They sell promises. They sell the very same things that the church used to sell in the past. Politics/religion is quite interchangeable in my opinion. The modern world required the imaginary character up in the sky to be taken out of the picture, so politics came to be. The structure is pretty much the same. Selling the very same things, charging the very same taxes.
That is why i praised Orwell and Huxley. Maybe they saw in humanity a little bit more than what we could see. And they just realized that the outlook is more bleak than bright.
But yeah, not worth it.
He’ll probably get another suspension from the forum soon anyway

Edit. @admins, I think this has run it’s course.
I don’t live in the EU, but for anyone that does please don’t let this happen. Take to the streets, spam your elected representatives, and if it does go through host your own XMPP or Matrix server that they can’t backdoor.
Back to topic:
The vote about this new law which was scheduled for next Tuesday is postponed, indeed. But its not over yet. They’ll debate about the proposal at that date instead. The German governing parties (CDU/CSU & SPD) don’t share the same position on this topic, the CDU/CSU is against it. But the SPD still favors it to avoid child abuses.
Thus, as Germanys governing parties are still undecided yet, a new voting date is most likely scheduled for the 8/9 December 2025. They’re working on a revised proposal as it seems like and that will hopefully take the major concerns of the opponents into account (i.e. not breaking private end to end encryption, hopefully).
And there is goes …
