Packages to cleanBuild?
==> [N]one [A]ll [Ab]ort [I]nstalled [No]tInstalled or (1 2 3, 1-3, ^4)
==> i

To install which one to choose? I ?

It depends - Do you want to cleanbuild it or not? We can’t really answer that - it’s up to you. And you also did not provide the previous output, so I have no idea which packages you are even looking at to provide suggestions, or if there are 1 or 20 packages you are looking at updating.

This is also a nearly year old thread - You should create a new thread if you’re having a problem updating today.

thanks for reply.

yay timeshift

there was 2 package available 1. timeshift 2. Timeshift - bin

i choosed 1 ( hope right choice did)

after that was that choices:

i was confused their meaning cpz they are writen in past tense “Installed” and what does mean that numbers 1 2 3…

i just choose A and was that right choice thinking now.

Yeah i know but when i saw same thread thought not worth opening new one i wanna not want to break any rules.

It’s up to you. One package is compiled already, one is the binaries. There’s no correct choice.

The numbers refer to the package numbers previously listed. You likely didn’t have any if you just instated timeshift. It’s more common when you do updates. Also, if it’s your first time installing timeshift All and None would have the same outcome. First install is always a clean build.

I would take some time and learn how to use yay and what everything means and the dangers of using things from the AUR. Google it/DDG it. Learn what you’re doing with it and why. It’s very powerful and yet very dangerous at the same time.

Thank you for helping and your time.

You can read more on AUR

and here

Basically, what you want to do usually:

  • If program is available in default Arch repos - use it.
  • If it’s not available, or you need something very specific - use AUR
