Error! vboxhost/7.0.14_OSE: Missing the module source directory or the symbolic link pointing to it. Manual intervention is required!

Whenever there is an update to my kernels (Linux and Linux LTS) I get this error message:

Error! vboxhost/7.0.14_OSE: Missing the module source directory or the symbolic link pointing to it.Manual intervention is required!

Here are the Virtual packages I have on this system

virtualbox 7.1.6-2
virtualbox-guest-iso 7.1.6-1
virtualbox-host-modules-arch 7.1.6-13
virtualbox-host-modules-lts 7.1.6-14

I don’t know what manual intervention is required. I appreciate some pointers to solve this issue.

Maybe this helps: Remove DKMS modules Error! vboxhost/6.1.26_OSE: Missing the module source directory or the symbolic link pointing to it

Thank you @manuel for referring to that thread! It solved my issue as well.

Sorry to bother again but I have a new problem:

Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)

The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver is either not loaded or not set up correctly. Please try setting it up again by executing

'/sbin/vboxconfig'

as root.

If your system has EFI Secure Boot enabled you may also need to sign the kernel modules (vboxdrv, vboxnetflt, vboxnetadp, vboxpci) before you can load them. Please see your Linux system's documentation for more information.

where: suplibOsInit what: 3 VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED (-1908) - The support driver is not installed. On linux, open returned ENOENT.

When I run ‘/sbin/vboxconfig’, it says: bash: /sbin/vboxconfig: No such file or directory

Should I open a new thread for this issue?

Yes, new problems are better to handle in new threads.
(But try reboot first if you didn’t reboot already.)

I rebooted to be sure that the changes are applied. OK, I will make a new thread later. I have to go out on some errands now. Thanks again @manuel!

A reinstallation of all my Virtualbox packages and kernels and a reboot solved the problem. I don’t know what was wrong before but now Virtualbox works and I am not getting the error in the title of the topic. All well for this tux.
