I think you’re fine.

It’s just that some of the mirrors were down (or else) while ranking them.

But I guess it still ranked all the other ones and wrote the file containing the newly ranked mirrors has it was supposed to.

I just installed and updated EOS last night and got the same connection failed errors while ranking the EOS mirrors. The updates went fine and the system was properly updated after all the messy output. I ran the mirror ranking before using pacman -Syyu to update the system, and it worked fine.

The same here, i just did the update and got the same thing! But it updated the system fine as far as i see…

I know this is SOLVED, OP, but put this your back pocket all the same:

reflector --protocol https --verbose --latest 25 --sort rate --save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
yay -Syyu
eos-rankmirrors --verbose
yay -Syyu

it’s no secret that mirror connections get wiggy and doggy on occasion. These 4 commands, one right after the other, will put the whole system right—for me—til the next time.

I don’t think there is a problem if it updates and completes. This is just informational in nature.
