You already created a thread here…
NO NEED to create a second thread with a different title.
Welcome to EOS. Not aware of any system script that does backups for you. You’re free to use whatever tool you want to use for your system backups, whether that’s timeshift, vorta + borg, or just a straight rsync to an external node. Find what works for you, based on your usecase.
Bro Welcome,
Not familiar with any EOS builtin. I’m using Snapper for system and reading about BackinTime
for my use to back up my data. Check it out there are many different ways to do this. Check the boards an try something
No, that isn’t true. First of all, we simply don’t have the manpower to create such a tool, besides the fact that this distro’s theory is to be a jump start into Arch with some terminal-centric tools to guide you a little bit into your journey.
A back-up script isn’t one of those tools.
The person who told you this either is confused with another distro or just read about us and never tried it themselves.
Maybe the OP was referring to eos-shifttime
and doesn’t understand it’s purpose and how it works.
Edit: I think that was originally from freebird54?
That could be, but it would be nice if @anon25096638 could elaborate on what they mean?
