This might reach you too late this time, but you might use it for future potential distro hopping.
2 days ago I installed an app called virt-manager, which is a desktop graphical tool for managing virtual machines. It is very easy to install and it really blew me away: you can install any distro you like and it is as if it is a bare metal install.
It detects your wifi, so you can go online, download and install you favorite apps, do system updates, the lot. And you are not limited to just installing 1 distro in virt-manager.

From my experience, when you go into the boot menu and you have legacy mode enabled in the BIOS, if the USB flash drive was made correctly to be bootable, you will see two entries, one clearly marked as UEFI in the name of the entry.
Yer like I said worst it will do is not boot. If you are still having trouble after this I suggest you make a new thread about the issue to make it a bit more visible to others so you can get some more help.
