Endeavouros on a Lenovo T14 Gen1 AMD Ryzen 7 Pro with Touchscreen

Hi everybody,
today i got myself a christmas present :grinning:
Because my son needed a replacement for his broken Macbook Air i gave him my lenovo Thinkbook 14 G2 ITL and got myself a new toy
I found a used Lenovo Thinkpad T14 Gen1 with AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U with Radeon Graphics, 16 Gb RAM, 512 GB Samsung m.2 HDD and Touchscreen from november 2020.
Battery has only 50 cycles and nearly 100% capacity.
I installed endeavourOS KDE this evening and i’m happy with my system.
Compared to my old laptop, even the fingerprint reader works with KDE at lockscreen.
Also the touchscreen works perfect !
Only thing i must adapt myself is: it has an QUERTY Keyboard
For me as a german user a new experience
So i installed the os in english for the first time to go “all in”
Over time i will post my experience with the T14 here.
Some other Lenovo Thinkpad users here ?
Merry Christmas to everybody and greetings from Germany/Bavaria
Andreas

Welcome @kaac128
I don’t have a Thinkpad but I do have a newer Thinkbook and it works great. It’s a 14" non touch screen.

@ricklinux Goof Morning Rick,
i had a thinkbook before the t14 and it is a great device.
Especially that it has 2 m.2 slots.
Only issue was the fingerprint reader. i was not able to make it work.
Now my son installed win11 and the fingerprint reader works in win 11.
Happy holidays !

First impressions about batterylife
After installation and first tests i put it into sleep mode at 2am at battery 100%
At 8am started “working” again ( Battery at 95% ), mainly office work and watching tutorials on youtube.
Display at 30%, Governator at powersaving mode.
At 2pm the battery drained to 5% so i plug the powercable in.
So it has about 6 hrs batterylife at normal working conditions. Thats fine for me.
endavouros KDE out of the box, no autocpufreq, tlp, powertop etc.
