EndeavourOS on a Alienware 18 laptop

Hi,

I just installed a few days ago EndeavourOS XFCE on a Alienware 18 laptop.

I am wondering if somebody else did the same, have tips on configurations, backlights management, screen brightness, fans, and so on…

Thank you.

In all seriousness - just google/ddg xfce customizations. What are you trying to “customize”? Like, are you trying to optimize gaming, are you trying to rice it out and get internet points on the almost dead reddit?

Ah sorry for asking questions, I suppose I was not specific enough. I am wondering if an up to date program/s do exist for configuring keyboard backlights / Alienware main logo, etc. this kind of things.

I know that in the past such little programs did exist for Linux and Alienware laptops, but they seem abandoned.

Thank you.

There’s a few packages in the AUR - https://aur.archlinux.org/packages?O=0&K=alienware

Disclaimer: I have no idea how up to date or well supported they are.

oof looks like alienfx 2.4.0-1 is the most recent one and hasn’t been touched since October. Might be worth a shot though.
Edit: Looks like one of the big things that this depends on is the Python version. As the github page states that it’s only been tested on 3.10

No worries about questions, it was just such a broad question I didn’t really know where to go with it

alienfx do the job but is very limited compared to alienware control center. I just want one color, so that work great for me.

If your computer is not on the list, give a try because AFX probably work nonetheless. Its the case for my aurora R4 ALX, since its laptop oriented the zones don’t make any sens but that work so…

You can also try openrgb (didn’t work for me).
