Hi,
Trying to install EndeavourOS_Mercury-2025.02.08.iso on my system that already has Kubuntu (450 GB of ext4 for OS and 100 MB of EFI).
I selected the manual partitioning since I want to save the data - no reformatting.
I picked grub since I have a smaller EFI partition.
Tried the install a few times - both online & offline modes.
Online, it failed since the resolv.conf couldn’t be copied.
See: https://termbin.com/6jip
Offline, it failed differently.

[Edited to add] the installation media is a 4 GB USB, created using the cp eos.iso to /dev/sdb.
Any suggestions on how to get around this issue?
Appreciate your time/help.

It looks like maybe you didn’t select the checkbox to format the /
partition.
Hmm, yes - don’t want to format the ext4 partition that houses the / since I would like to save the data. Is that a must for this install?

Yes, you can’t write /
into a partition with existing data on it. That won’t work.
OK, My (bad) understanding was that it can be done without reformatting. Appreciate your help.

Structure and files will get a bad mix with the existing OS and the new install that can`t work in any way.

Got it. After zapping the partition, I was able to complete the install successfully. So far, it is rocking!
