I always update Mirrors before installing EOS
but still takes 40 min to install
but have never had any error or anything
always installed with no errors
the only thing is that it took some time to install
do not know why
It sounds very much like a mirror issue. The 40 min installs are probably because refreshing the keys can take a really long time.
I do not think so because when I install
basic install without extra
arcolinux it takes me 28 min
archlabs it takes me 16 min
Anarchy-Linux 8-12 min
endeavouros it takes me 40-55 min
and when I write these times I mean when I press install
then it takes me those times
As far as i know, EndeavourOS is the only Archbased Distro providing a pure netinstall with calamares… All others using a squashfs image to copy the system to disk… and in addition, you can install packages…
But indeed these current released ISO for EndeavourOS is using a method to install packages that is slow but safer on not failing.
We have been working on improving the speed since the introduction. Implementation is in full swing:
https://forum.endeavouros.com/t/development-in-full-throttle/
yes archlabs and Anarchy do not use calamares
Arcolnux uses netinstall with calamares
i’m trying to figure out if it’s calamares or something
for I have never had any problems installing EndeavourOS
and has always worked as it should
it just takes some time and install EndeavourOS it is the only thing
i distro hopping alot but always come back to EndeavourOS or Archlabs
and yes I have not found anyone who has pure netinstall arch based besides EndeavourOS and that is one of the reasons I always come back to EndeavourOS
PS: I’m waiting like a child for the next release
we all doing this
I think on top of the way calamares is configured to call pacman it is also related to the changes on pacman (6), keyring handling, and mirror issues maybe also related to pacman 6 update … that installs taking longer on the release ISO. It was mostly faster before the changes…
Thank you very much
it makes sense
I have never had mirror issues
the only thing is that it takes its time to install
so if I understand correctly it’s calamares and pacman (6)
that does it?
partly… as we need to configure calamares to install the packages one by one calling pacman for each package…
i wanted to ask if it did one by one but thought it was a stupid language
but wondered if it had anything to do with installing one by one
because I can see in the terminal when I install EndeavourOS
that it does so one by one
Now it all makes sense why it takes that time
i try to understand calamares
thank you very much @joekamprad
most people do it before installing… most of us know how archlinux works
thank you very much for the constant support and assistance
by the way… i will try my best not to bother you guys much… (i have reasons) … last time I got extra involved in the forum, made me quit using garuda linux and switch to arcolinux, because i got trolled and flagged for almost every post i made in the forum… I got to know that the same guy is here too…
its just a reminder that i may post some silly instances (sometimes for fun but most of the time for information) because i believe the forum knows much better then the internet…
anyway cheers and peace…
anyway… EOS got successfully installed so this post needs to be closed i guess… THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT AND PATIENCE AGAIN

Was there any post in the whole thread that pointed you towards the solution of the issue? If the answer is yes, please mark that post as the solution. Thank you! And welcome to EnOS’ Forum!
Ok, so, please try again, that clearly isn’t the post that solved your issue. You want to mark the solution as the post that actually fixed your problem, not the last post.
