Has anybody tried app called Upscaler? I picked it on OMG Ubuntu site where Joey Sneddon seemed to be pretty impressed about it. I decided to try it myself and installed it on my laptop (it’s in AUR). I tried it only with couple of photos, but my first impression was quite positive. It could be useful with selfies and other photos taken with smartphones or tablets. Not that I take selfies myself… 
I tried it and wasn’t happy with it, it destroyed the look of the photo completely. Lost in Detail and to “plastic”
The Idea is great, but when the result isn’t good… perhaps for Artwork it works better.

Yes, I was thinking about the same. With avatars and such things it could be useful.
