No matter what I do, I always seem to have an issue with running the game at a higher FPS than 20.
After checking the frametime with MangoHud, it doesn’t seem normal to have it be at ~70ms.
I have run out of options at this point, and I don’t wanna change distros just to fix an issue I know can be solved!
Please help!
Come on, take few minutes of your time and give es some info to work with.
What kind of PC do you have (specs)? Nvidia or Amd gpu? What kernel version? What mesa version if on amd?
How do you play the game; via Steam or Lutris? If via Lutris, what DXVK and VKD3D do you use?
Alright. Sorry for not giving enough info, as I’m still kinda new to EndeavorOS.
RX6700XT, Ryzen 7 3700X, Zen Kernel 6.2.5, and MESA 22.3.6-1
I use Steam for it, specifically the Runtime version, if that’s important.
Hope that’s enough!
We were just talking about this in telegram:
My system doesn’t seem to stutter, however.
Only when I play Elden Ring. Otherwise, the system’s pretty smooth
What are you seeing temp wise? Could it be thermal throttling?
I figured it out!
It turned out that I accidentally turned off desktop effects in Plasma to help with multiple refresh rates in X11, not realizing that I should have turned it back on, as I have found a good fix called TearFree, found here https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AMDGPU#Tear_free_rendering
