Hello! I have been trying to set up plymouth, and after some difficulties, I think my last step is to edit /etc/default/grub, and then rebuild the grub file. However, in the spot that different guides say to place “quiet splash” in, it is quite occupied, and I dont know if placing it in ‘GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX’ is a good idea. I would greatly appreciate input on where to place it!
You can add those options to the end of the existing list.
Add what you want after the 3 and before the '

As mentioned above and elsewhere you can add it there.
But personally I like to take the approach of leaving the defaults, er, on the DEFAULT line.
And put whatever extras on the line below that. ex;
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="loglevel=3 systemd.show_status=auto udev.log_priority=3 rd.udev.log_level=3"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="quiet splash"

You don’t need nomodeset, that’s default as of the newer driver versions.
That worked! The grub file regenerated correctly with ‘quiet splash’ in it. Thank you!
Now, while plymouth displayed after rebooting out of tts, it did not display booting back into my pc… unfortunate lol
