EA App connection timeout

Hi there,

I switched to Endeavour since 4 months as my main system and loving it, but I’m having a pretty annoying issue in gaming department.
Hi everyone,

I’m trying to run the EA App using Lutris, but it fails to connect to EA servers
This is what I get:

And this is after a while when it times out:

(if I try to update, clicking on “Esegui aggiornamento“, the same happens)

Here’s a summary of what I’ve tried so far:

  • All other launchers (Ubisoft, Epic, GOG) work fine under Lutris.

  • EA App starts, downloads updates, but then gets stuck at the “Connecting to EA App” screen until it times out.

  • Installed all relevant 32-bit libraries (lib32-nss, lib32-gnutls, lib32-krb5, lib32-libldap, lib32-sqlite) via pacman.

  • Verified that all winetricks dependencies are installed; they match or exceed those on a Fedora-based VM (Bazzite) where EA App works.

  • Used the same Wine runner (wine-ge-8-26-x86_64) as on Bazzite.

  • Attempted launching EA App via Steam and using Wine overrides (winhttp, wininet=b) — it starts but still times out.

  • On Bazzite vm, the same EA App instance works fine: it asks for credentials and successfully logs in.

Has anyone successfully run EA App on EndeavourOS, or can suggest any workaround? Is there any known issue that I’m missing?

Thank you all

Just solved the issue, following the same issue of user PourYourMilk in this reddit: https://nm.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1nhvvea/ea_app_is_broken_as_f_or_is_it_just_me/

Basically, EA App needs an ipv6 link local ip, which I had disabled at kernel level.

I leave this as a reminder for every other poor guy like me who had the same headache.

Oh, and by the way: Endeavour rocks.

Bye

The only thing you had to do is using steam proton 9.0-4, ge-proton-9.27. Those are working just fine. Tested this in Steam, Lutris and Heroic games launcher.
