Unable to connect to friends list in EA App through Lutris and Steam. Games work fine online, but I appear offline in the launcher. Can’t set myself to online so I don’t see any friends to invite to play. Getting error message through Lutris’s EA App stating “Communication error. The app couldn’t connect to port 3216, and this may block game launches. You can continue to use the app with limited features, or check out our help article for troubleshooting tips.”
Did not update in between when it worked and when the issue started occuring, it just randomly stopped working.
Tried restarting my router.
Tried updating EOS.
Tried playing with and without expressvpn,
Tried reinstalling EA App through Lutris.
Tried fresh reinstall of EndeavorOS but the error still appears.
Why would they require that… Does ea have it’s own kernel level anti-cheat now too? And the damn thing can be installed from linux as well? Please say it ain’t so…
Same connection problem in the friends list here. Restarted the app a few minutes later and the friends list was back. Seems to fall in the general “EA Online is awesome” category, not something Linux specific.
I’m started to suspect it may not completely a linux based issue either. I do have a windows partition and i could see my friends list when gaming on windows, but when I try to invite or join someone it fails with error 10200. A few others are reporting this error right now in EA forums, so there’s hope it’s just an EA messup that will be remedied eventually.
