Hi guys, I would like to ask if you know the solution for this problem. I have a pc with dual monitors, it is intel and has a dedicated nvidia graphics( Quadro 5000) The two monitors are connected by VGA, one is connected to the motherboard and the other to the nvidia graphics, the problem is that it only shows me an image on the screen that is connected to the nvidia graphics, and the other screen that is connected to the motherboard does not give an image and I have not been able to make it work, do you know any solution?.
Could be that you can not use the internal onboard GPU if the dedicated card is in use and v.v.
Know any solution?
Plug both displays to the Nvidia Card.
you can check xrandr
… but i would bet it is simply not possible on your system.
It only has one input for VGA and both displays only work with VGA
the nvidia card has only one vga output?
This must be a very old card …
And you can use adapter to connect vga displays to hdmi/dvi on the card
As I posted on another thread - it is not hard to find adapters to/from VGA and DVI/Displayport or HDMI. Prices (in Canada are $12.99 down to $8.99 depending (may be better - didn’t check far as I don’t know what would work best for you). Then life is simple all on the capable card…
sounds like a good excuse to upgrade two monitors … both are connected via VGA? that’s some old school stuff right there!
You cannot use the output of the motherboard.
If you have a graphic card, you might be able to choose in your BIOS, but in any case, it will be one or the other.
You should be able to find a cheap adapter on amazone. I got one that do DP = VGA and it’s working great ! for secondary monitor or CLI stuff it’s more than enought.
Use nouveau (remove nvidia proprietary driver) and delete any xorg.conf files (/etc/X11/xorg.conf
and /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/*.conf
except from 00-keyboard.conf
).
