Hey all, i installed endeavour OS As a dualboot with windows, with Systemmd. Now, after trying to boot into it the second time (i installed it on an external ssd) It just takes me back to windows again, and the boot menu says windows boot manager. Also, The systemd menu dosent pop up anymore. And in windows my drive has two letters for some reason, G: and C: Dont know if thats related. I am a complete begineer to linux really, Any help would be appreciated.
Hello, hello. I assume you installed Windows as the second system?
Anyway, have fun with this: https://discovery.endeavouros.com/system-rescue/arch-chroot/2022/12/
Once you do it, you shoud be able to reinstall / reconfigure systemd. IDK how, because I use GRUB
No, windows is my first OS. endeavour is second
To clarify, i didnt really have anything on it. Can i just boot into the live enviorement again and reinstall endeavouros? Will that also fix systemd?
Sorry, I didn’t pay attention. External SSD drive you say…
C and G are 2 drives, no? C - windows one, G - external?
Well it should be, But even when the External is disconnected, it shows Two letters on the same drive.
Pic or it didn’t happen Also from disk manager in Windows. I suspect you created some new partition on your C.
Because your external disconnected installation of EOS should not affect your Windows drive, so something is fishy there…
Yeah i have no idea. I just followed through the installation, erased the external ssd. Didnt create any paritions on my C.
Well, i uninstalled google drive software which was G. Now its back to normal. No idea what happend there XD
Are you able to boot with the external drive plugged in and select that drive from the boot menu using the appropriate F key.
Nope, When i do that it says “windows boot manager” on The drive and it boots me into windows
Boot up your EnOS’ live usb, connect your external sdd and post the output of the following commands.
Post the output as text: copy, paste, highlight and press Ctrl-E to format.
sudo parted -l
efibootmgr
sudo blkid
Hopefully this will give some people some ideas about your setup and perhaps leading to some solution.
