Dotfiles river

Hi there any good dotfiles for river (without zsh?)

I want try. But I’m not fealing to go barebone install. Right on first time.

Every dotfiles for river that I have found has zsh and it’s terminalic… That’s not my overal goal

I have thing that hyprland + nwg-shell can overcome shitdevelopemt of hyprland and changes in config… Most of the time they do but not all time… I just want dynamic manager (most of the time works as tilling) set it up and forget about my config

Sounds like you need to learn how to configure things if you don’t want Zsh because most devs use that.

That said, maybe Arco Linux’s repos don’t use it?

Hey acro Linux have river… I try that…

Yeh at the end I will go with clean install endeavour… But I’m not programmer… I understand if I see and can test what my changes do… For that i looking for some first time “workaround” help

OK so arco wasnt help at all

But im there …
EndeavouOS CM sway (for easy install → an you need sway for gereeter anyway).

Then some dotfiles from github and some modifications

River is a solid, dynamic Wayland compositor, that I regularly use; alongside Hyprland and Sway.

Usable dotfiles are out there, you just need to keep searching.

BTW the River 0.4 is comming . River 0.3 has moved as river-classic.

Is there anybody who already test the river 0.4 and how much pain it was to move config and reconfig it ?

Start your Endeavour with a lightweight Arch-based, terminal centric system ready to personalise and a stellar community at your side” EOS

You need to modify pretty much every config example to customize your needs/likings. Maybe this is a simple doc to begin with.

Yeh but my question was to river 0.4 I’m running on river 0.3 over year now.. And it’s the best WM I have ever used….

But to upcoming river 0.4 there is almost no documented info

I was using 0.3 an later 0.4. I don’t recall what changes I needed to make in the config to make the new version work. What questions/problems do you have?

Nothing yet I’m still on 0.3… but I know and read major changes on 0.4… and becaus it will soon drop in to stable 0.4, so I preparing my self for writing new config.

Go ahead & upgrade to 0.4. No major changes in the config if I remember correctly. Even it breaks, fix it then.
